A Michigan woman, Princess Thurman, has been charged after allegedly shooting her boyfriend with a purple gun inside another woman’s apartment.  She had entered a “polyamorous” relationship with the man days earlier, according to Chicago Tribune.

The incident happened on December 20 when Police arrived the Merrillville apartment at 5700 block of Grant Street around 6:15 p.m and found a man shot near the front door, according to court records and the Lake County coroner’s office.

Masceo Robinson, 20, of Merrillville suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen and buttocks, court records state. He was later pronounced dead at Methodist Hospitals Southlake Campus, a coroner’s release said.

According to the report, another woman, who had been in an “on again and off again” relationship with Robinson,  said all three had been hanging out at her apartment. Thurman was his new girlfriend, she told police, but all three were seeing if they could make a “polyamorous” relationship work.

Court documents show that Thurman, 21, of Lansing in Michigan fled after the incident but was arrested in St. Joseph, Michigan, and extradited back to Lake County, Dec. 23.

She is charged with one count of murder, the report said.
