Kenan Thompson as Herschel Walker giving a thumbs up and smiling

After a break final week, Saturday Night Live returned with a PBS NewsHour rendition for its cold open. Here, host Judy Woodruff (Heidi Gardner) interviews Republican candidates Herschel Walker (Kenan Thompson), Dr. Oz (Mikey Day), and Kari Lake (Cecily Strong) as their numbers proceed to surge in the polls regardless of “none of you having any political experience.”

Each candidate received an opportunity to plead their case for his or her respective election races as Walker largely rambled unintelligently, Dr. Oz hawked weight reduction merchandise, and Lake tried to downplay her help of 2020 election fraud claims regardless of it being the focus of her marketing campaign.

Even extra spectacular than something in this sketch although is Cecily Strong’s Kari Lake impression, full with smeared Vaseline all around the digicam lens to make it tremendous genuine.
