THIS is the terrifying moment a passenger plane engine bursts into flames merely seconds before take-off.

An emergency was declared at Delhi’s Indra Gandhi International (IGI) airport when flames erupted on the Bengaluru-bound IndiGo airways flight 6E 2131 on Friday evening time.

One of the passengers on board could possibly be heard saying: “Oh, s**t,”

Another passenger said: “I observed sparks coming off the wing and it resulted in flames before the plane was stopped.

“The pilot revealed that the engine has stalled. It was a scary experience but all ended well because the plane would have been air in the next five to seven seconds.”

“Flight 2131 stopping,” said the pilot.

In the background, the cabin crew member could possibly be heard requesting passengers to remain seated.

“Please, remain seated. Please, remain seated,” an attendant said.

The A320 plane was carrying a minimal of 180 of us on board.

Meanwhile, IndiGo, in an announcement, said the take-off was aborted properly in time and the plane safely returned to the bay.

“An aircraft operating flight 6E2131 from Delhi to Bangalore experienced an engine stall during take-off roll,” the airline said inside the assertion.

“The take-off was aborted and the aircraft safely returned to the bay. All passengers are being accommodated on an alternate aircraft. We regret the inconvenience caused to the passengers,” it added.

Police Commissioner of IGI Tanu Sharma said: “IGIA Control Room acquired a reputation from CISF Control room regarding a hearth disadvantage inside the engine of Flight No 6E 2131 going from Delhi to Bengaluru.

“The flight was carrying 177 passengers and seven crew members.
