A pair of sneakers worn by Michael Jordan throughout his last NBA finals with the Chicago Bulls in 1998 is predicted to promote for as much as $4 million — and will set a report for the costliest sneakers ever offered.
The sneakers are a pair of black and pink Air Jordan 13s from Jordan’s “Last Dance” — the last championship final Jordan performed for the Bulls in 1998. Jordan wore this pair of sneakers through the second game in the Bulls’ sequence against the Utah Jazz. During that game, Jordan scored 37 factors for the Bulls, successful them the match.
According to a list from the Sotheby’s public sale home, Jordan took off his sneakers after the game, signed them in silver ink, and gifted them to a ball boy in the locker room.
The itemizing has priced the sneakers between $2 and $4 million.
The sneakers shall be offered in a web-based public public sale held by Sotheby’s. This public sale is scheduled to run from April 3 to 11.

In a information release seen by CBS News, Sotheby’s said the pair of sneakers was the “important relic from the height of Jordan’s career.” The public sale home also called the sneakers the “most illustrious pieces of sports memorabilia to exist.”
If offered for their estimated price, the Air Jordan 13s will set the report for the costliest sneakers ever offered, per CBS News, citing Sotheby’s.
“The historic Air Jordans are the most valuable sneakers to ever appear on the auction market, and are poised to eclipse the current auction record for a pair of sneakers,” Sotheby’s said, per CBS News.
Two different sneakers have been offered for over one million {dollars}: Kanye West’s $1.8 million Nike Air Yeezy 1s and Jordan’s $1.472 million Nike Air Ships, per Sotheby’s Twitter. Both pairs of sneakers had been offered in 2021.
